Andrew Specht, representing Las Vegas Speed and Bishop Gorman High in Nevada, won the men's 17-18 800-meter crown in a lifetime-best 1:53.01 at the USATF National Junior Olympic Track and Field Championships at Hornet Stadium at Sacramento State. Specht, entering his senior year, also finished fourth in the 3,000-meter final in 9:04.45 and contributed to a third-place finish in the 4x800-meter relay in 8:04.65, along with advancing to the 1,500-meter final in 4:00.36.
